In the management of Metabolic acidosis in CKD Patients .

PARINSODA- EC 500 is Enteric Coated Sodium Bicarbonate 500 mg Tablets. Sodium Bicarbonate is an alkali therapy to treat metabolic acidosis , heartburn, acid ingestion, upset stomach, certain drug intoxications and replacing bicarbonate lost due to severe diarrhoea . Sodium bicarbonate acts as an acid neutralizer which helps to neutralize hydrogen ion concentration and raises blood and urinary pH. It Delays the progression of the Kidney Disease. .

Compositions

  • Enteric Coated Sodium Bicarbonate Tablets 500 mg
  • Packaging: 1x10 , Form: Tablets

Indications

  • PARINSODA EC 500 is indicated in Metabolic Acidosis, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Urinary Alkalinization, Severe Diarrhea, Blood Volume Restoration In Shock, Severe Primary Lactic Acidosis, also in relieving Indigestion, Heartburn, Sour stomach , Dyspepsia.

Dosages

  • 325- 2000mg orally for 1- 4 times a day for moderate metabolic acidosis

Contraindications

Due to rapid alkalotic effects, sodium bicarbonate is contraindicated in those with signs/symptoms or laboratory values indicating underlying metabolic or respiratory alkalosis due to the potential for exacerbation of symptoms.

Drug interactions

Mild interactions of sodium bicarbonate include:
Aspirin , aspirin rectal, balsalazide , blessed thistle , choline magnesium trisalicylate , chromium , devil's claw , diflunisal , mesalamine , salicylates (non-ASA) , salsalate , strontium ranelate , sulfasalazine .
